Job Summary:
The Global Tax Director leads the tax function for the company, with responsibilities including setting global tax strategy for the corporate entities, tax analysis of commercial transactions, tax compliance and partnering with the company’s Controller to manage the quarterly and annual tax provision processes.
Responsibilities:
Ownership of tax functionfor the company, including global tax strategy for the corporate entities, tax analysis of commercial transactions, tax compliance and quarterly and annual tax provision.
- Provide strategic advice to the company and its investors on the overall tax position of the company and its operations
- Advise senior management on developments in tax rules and regulations applicable to the company’s operations
- Lead team of tax professionals responsible for worldwide tax compliance, including preparation and filing of appropriate domestic and foreigncorporate, partnership and trust income tax returns, SALT returns and sales and use, VAT and other transactional tax returns
- Review and advise on commercial matters, including domestic and foreign aircraft lease and loan transactions and aircraft acquisitions and dispositions
- Efficiently manage key external tax vendors, including by developing streamlined processes and procedures
- Partner with Chief Legal Officerin legal entity management, including streamlining existing holding company structure
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s, Master’sor Juris Doctorate Degree
- Minimum of 10 years’broad experience with domestic and foreign income, propertyand transactional tax regimes
- Commercial orientation and ability to partner well with key stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience analyzing tax elements of multi-jurisdictional commercial transactions
- Prior experience in a corporate tax planning role or performing tax due diligence in a transaction services position at an accounting firm or as a tax associate in a law firm
- Experience managing external vendors and advisors
- Experience leading a team of tax professionals
