Reporting to the Managing Director - Americas, perform the deal structuring, credit & collateral analysis, and customer due diligence activities related to origination of new transaction opportunities for Global Jet Capital’s activities in the Americas region. Provide credit and asset guidance to the regional originators to ensure that deal quality is consistent with the organization’s overall objectives and standards. Work collaboratively with other functional team members to provide effective and constructive challenge throughout the origination and closing process.
Job Responsibilities:
- Effectively complete due diligence work for new opportunities, delivering a work product that is consistent with Global Jet Capital’s established standards.
- Provide input during deal structuring, credit and collateral analysis, and work effectively with the Compliance team to ensure that required AML/KYC processes are completed.
- Manage all aspects of the deal approval process. Manage pipeline of deals proactively to ensure timely and complete write-ups are prepared for approval by GJC’s Investment Committee.
- Manage due diligence process, including interacting with customer contacts and finance departments in order to understand credit profile and risks.
- Work with Legal, Finance and Operations teams to ensure an effective process to document and fund transactions, ensuring that documentation packages are complete, and incorporate all deal approval conditions (as applicable).
- Periodically review operating processes and recommend any necessary changes to meet business expectations around deal execution and to improve customer experience.
- Work effectively with the Managing Director – Americas Underwriting to proactively provide updates on deal and market intelligence.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 7 years of underwriting experience in equipment finance, asset-based lending or cashflow lending at a bank or finance company.
- Strong credit expertise – spreading & analyzing corporate and personal financial statements, understanding and modeling drivers of profitability/cash flow, and interpreting financial performance.
- Prior experience underwriting a broad spectrum of secured deals, including negotiating credit documents.
- Critical thinker with ability to provide input under significant time pressure, providing effective challenge balanced with driving growth.
- Comfortable interacting with senior leaders and peers in Risk Management and in other functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel and demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Must be willing to work out of an office in Danbury, CT.
- Unrestricted work authorization for the United States.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in corporate aircraft lease/loan structuring.
- Experience with structured leasing/transportation finance.
- Working effectively in a cross functional team environment, accountable and dependable.
- Clearly articulates viewpoint verbally and in writing, fostering confidence when sharing/ presenting information.
